Adolescent Summit

Event-icon

The 2025 Adolescent Mental Health Summit brought together youth advocates, mental health professionals, educators, policymakers, and civil society leaders from Africa and beyond to amplify young voices and co-create strategies for mental health equity. Centered on themes of youth-led innovation, accessibility, policy integration, and digital mental health, the summit featured breakout sessions led by adolescents, keynotes from leading experts, and creative spaces such as storytelling and art therapy. It produced a Youth Mental Health Charter calling for increased funding, integration of mental health education in schools, and protection of adolescent rights online, alongside the formation of a regional task force to drive accountability and scale successful interventions. The event underscored adolescent mental health as a cornerstone of sustainable development, with follow-up forums and community dialogues planned to sustain momentum throughout 2025.
